Cheesy Broccoli

Ingredients
  • broccoli heads (about 2 cups) chopped and steamed
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 2 cups milk (2% or whole)
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Steam broccoli with a steamer or in a strainer over a pot of boiling water.
  3. Melt butter in medium-sized saucepan over medium heat.
  4. Stir in flour, slowly, a little at a time. It will begin clumping.
  5. Stir in milk, slowly, a little at a time. It will begin to thicken.
  6. Once sauce has thickened season with salt, and pepper.
  7. Turn off heat and add cheese. Stir until cheese has melted.
  8. Remove from heat.
  9. Transfer broccoli to a baking dish.
  10. Pour sauce over top and stir to incorporate.
  11. Bake for about 20 minutes.
