I have had one hell of a week and could not be happier that it is Friday evening! I decided to shake up this delicious, tart yet sweet and earthy cocktail. The whole time I made it I had The Weekend's Starboy going through my head, hence the name!
What is star fruit?
Star fruit, or carambola, is a sweet and sour fruit. You'll find it in the more "unique" or "tropical" area of your grocery store's produce section. The skin is edible and when you slice them they form a 5-point star aka the perfect cocktail garnish!
Vodka is the liquor in this drink along with some St Germain Elderflower Liqueur. I added some fresh lemon juice which contributes to the tartness. And simple syrup to add more sweetness. The sage cuts right through this cocktail to completely balance out the flavor. Try it out and let me know what you think. Cheers to the weekend!
